About Lumivea

The architecture of modern beauty & editorial wellness

Lumivea is an editorial beauty publication built on a simple premise: that nails, skincare, and hair deserve the same precision, rigor, and visual discipline usually reserved for high-fashion editorial. We are not a product-review blog chasing trend cycles. We are a publication of record for the techniques, formulations, and ideas shaping contemporary beauty — reported with the same seriousness a design magazine brings to architecture.

Our name comes from the fusion of “lumin”— light — and “vita” — life. It reflects what we believe great beauty coverage should do: illuminate the science and craft behind the routines readers already care about, rather than simply cataloguing products.

What We Cover

Lumivea is organized around three disciplines: Nails, Skincare, and Hair. Within each, our editors report on technique and method, clinical and dermatological research, seasonal and runway trends, and the archives of technique that inform where a category is headed next. A single dossier might trace the biochemistry of a new peptide serum, break down the geometry behind a backstage manicure at Paris Fashion Week, or examine the trichology research reshaping how we think about scalp health. The throughline across every category is the same: precision over noise, and structure over spectacle.

Our Editorial Approach

Every piece published on Lumivea passes through an editorial process that treats beauty reporting as a discipline in its own right. Our contributors include senior beauty editors, clinical and dermatological correspondents, and category specialists in nails and hair, each bringing subject-matter depth rather than generalist coverage. We favor original photography and considered visual direction over stock imagery wherever possible, because we believe how a story looks is inseparable from what it says.

Lumivea is built as a Pinterest-first publication. We design our imagery, headlines, and layouts with visual discovery in mind from the outset, recognizing that much of our readership first encounters our work as a single image or pin before arriving at the full article. That discipline shapes everything from our photography direction to how we structure a dossier, and it is one reason our visual identity — sharp edges, generous whitespace, a restrained cobalt-and-black palette — stays consistent across every category.

Editorial Independence

Lumivea is supported by advertising and, where relevant, affiliate commissions on products we mention. Our editorial judgments are made independently of any advertising or affiliate relationship, and we disclose these relationships where applicable. You can read the full detail in our Disclaimer.

True aesthetic refinement is the ruthless subtraction of the non-essential until only structure and light remain.

Our Team

Lumivea is written and edited by a small team of beauty editors and industry specialists, supported by a network of clinical and dermatological contributors. Our editors have backgrounds spanning runway beauty direction, clinical dermatology reporting, and nail and hair atelier work, which lets us cover a technique or a formulation with the depth of someone who has actually practiced it, not just written about it.

We are based online with a fully remote editorial team, and we report for a global readership. Beauty standards, ingredient regulation, and technique vary meaningfully by region, and we try to reflect that range in our coverage rather than defaulting to a single market’s conventions.
